In This Place
porcelain, wood, drywall, spackling
A multi-room intervention in a partially demolished building in downtown Detroit, Michigan.
This piece utilized the raw, material properties of unglazed porcelain to have a dialogue with the spackle and wires of an unfinished space. Some of it is mimicry, some of it is playful imagination of what happens in a space when we look away, and some of it evokes abstract ideas about the relationships between objects and spaces, such as a closet space with a rod and hangers.
